Pennsylvania splits county records among several elected “row offices,” combined differently by county. The Register & Recorder issues marriage licenses(as Clerk of the Orphans' Court). Deeds are recorded by the Recorder of Deeds (a separate office in most counties). Business names (DBA) are filed with the PA Department of State →, and certified birth & death certificates come from PA Vital Records → (though some Registers hold pre-1906 records).
