ClerkSifter is a free public resource that helps you find county clerk offices and understand what to bring, what forms you need, and what things cost. We keep this policy short and plain: we collect very little, and we do not sell your data.
1. What information we collect
- No accounts. ClerkSifter has no user accounts and no registration. You can use the entire site without signing up or giving us your name.
- Anonymous usage data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymous, aggregate data about which pages are visited and how the site is used.
- Information you volunteer. If you submit our Google Form (used to report or verify county clerk details), we receive the information you choose to enter in that form.
- Cookies. ClerkSifter does not set its own cookies. Third-party services we use — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — may set their own cookies, as described below.
2. How we use information
- We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are visited so we can improve the site.
- We use Google Form responses solely to improve the accuracy of our county pages.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
3. Google AdSense
We are applying to serve advertising through Google AdSense. When ads are enabled:
- Third-party advertising is served by Google AdSense.
- Google may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings: https://www.google.com/settings/ads.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. You can read how Google handles this data in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. Third-party links
ClerkSifter links to official government websites and other third-party resources. Once you leave ClerkSifter, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
