Published by Big Horn County, as of 16 September 2026. See the county's own list ↗ This is the list to pack for. It differs from county to county because W.S. 20-1-103(b) lets one party apply before a competent witness, and each county reads that differently at the counter.
The $30 is set statewide in the county clerk's own fee schedule, W.S. 18-3-402(a)(xvi)(F), and does not vary by county. The same schedule prices a certified copy of your marriage license at $5.00from this office, at item (G) — you will need one to change a name with Social Security or on a driver's license. Who issues the license, and on what terms, is a different statute: W.S. 20-1-103.
No waiting period, no blood test, no residency requirement. Title 20 creates none of the three — it contains no mention of a blood test or a waiting period, and its only residency rules are in the divorce chapter. The license expires one year after it is issued if you have not married by then, and the expiry date is printed on it (W.S. 20-1-103(d)).
You need two witnesses at the ceremony. W.S. 20-1-106(b) requires the couple to declare themselves married “in the presence of the person performing the ceremony and at least two (2) attending witnesses”, and W.S. 35-1-422(b) has those witnesses sign the certificate. Couples who arrive without them cannot marry that day.
Any Wyoming county clerk can issue it. W.S. 20-1-103(a) requires a license from “a Wyoming county clerk” and Title 20 places no restriction on where in the state it may then be used. Afterwards it is the officiant's job, not yours, to file the certificate with the clerk who issued the license within ten days of the ceremony (W.S. 35-1-422(b)).
