Wyoming Marriage License Guide (2026)
Wyoming marriage licenses are issued by any Wyoming county clerk for a flat $30 statewide. The fee is set in the county clerk's own schedule at W.S. 18-3-402(a)(xvi)(F) — not in Title 20, which says who issues the license but sets no fee. There is no waiting period, no blood test and no residency requirement. The license expires one year after it is issued if you have not married by then, and Title 20 places no restriction on where in Wyoming it may be used.
The one thing to knowYou need two witnesses at the ceremony. W.S. 20-1-106(b) requires the couple to declare themselves married before the officiant and at least two attending witnesses, and W.S. 35-1-422(b) has those witnesses sign the certificate — so a couple who arrive without them cannot marry that day.

- Pay the $30 fee
A flat $30 everywhere, set by W.S. 18-3-402(a)(xvi)(F). Payment methods vary — Big Horn takes cash or check, Sweetwater takes cash, credit or money order, and Sheridan adds $2.00 to a card payment.
- Marry, with two witnesses, and let the officiant file it
The license expires one year after issue. After the ceremony it is the OFFICIANT's duty, not yours, to file the certificate with the clerk who issued the license within ten days (W.S. 35-1-422(b)). No county clerk's office provides an officiant.

Wyoming-specific details
The county clerk's own fee schedule prices a certified copy of a marriage license at $5.00 — W.S. 18-3-402(a)(xvi)(G). You will need one to change a name with Social Security or on a driver's license. Wyoming Vital Statistics Services also holds marriage records and charges $25, because the clerk forwards every certificate to the state registrar each month (W.S. 35-1-422(b)); the clerk is the cheaper and usually faster route. Sheridan County sells one copy at the counter within thirty days of the ceremony.
Eighteen by default. At sixteen or seventeen a judge of a court of record must approve the marriage and authorize the clerk to issue the license, and a parent or guardian must consent. Under sixteen a Wyoming marriage is void and no one may perform the ceremony (W.S. 20-1-102).
