What the state requires.A corporation or other business entity doing business under any name other than its legal name “shall file a report with the Secretary of State” (18 O.S. § 1140(A)), and “business entity” includes any unincorporated business, including any form of partnership (§ 1140(B)). The report is form FM0021 and costs $25.00. A partnership trading under a fictitious name files a fictitious name certificate with the Secretary of State instead (54 O.S. § 81), for $50.00(54 O.S. § 1-105(g)(9)). Both figures match the Secretary of State's own fee page.

A separate county filing some county clerks still take

This is a different thing from the Secretary of State filing above, and both are stated here as facts, nothing more. The County Clerk fee statute still contains a line for “recording and filing of fictitious name partnership certificates” ($5.00, 28 O.S. § 32(A)(12)), a fee line that survived the 1997 move of the fictitious-name filing to the Secretary of State. 32 of Oklahoma's 77 county clerks publish a fee for a county fictitious-name filing on their own fee schedules.
