Register to Vote in Orleans County, NY
This service isn't handled by the County Clerk. Here's where to go instead.
Registration in New York is run by the county board of elections, not the County Clerk: Election Law § 3-200(1) puts “a board of elections in each county of the state and in the city of New York for the five counties thereof” — so the five boroughs share one board. Three online routes lead to the same place: the State Board of Elections portal (no DMV ID needed), the DMV portal (needs a MyDMV account and a DMV-issued ID), and the NYC Board of Elections for the boroughs. Paper and in-person registration go to your county board. Deadlines, from Election Law § 5-210(3): a mailed application must be postmarked by the fifteenth day before the election and received by the tenth; delivered in person, by the tenth.
