🏛️ In Nebraska the County Clerk issues marriage licenses (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 42-104) and, in most counties, is also the register of deeds (§ 23-1502); 17 counties have a separate Register of Deeds or Assessor/Register of Deeds. 💍 A marriage license is $50 in every county since July 18, 2026 (§ 33-110), with no waiting period; the ceremony needs two witnesses (§ 42-109). 🏠 Recording is $10 for the first page and $6 for each page after (§ 33-109). 📄 Certified birth and death certificates come from DHHS Vital Records (§ 71-612), and trade names from the Secretary of State (§ 87-210). The County Clerk registers voters except where the county has an election commissioner (§ 32-218), and the County Treasurer titles vehicles (§ 60-144).
