Deeds, mortgages and land records are the Register of Deeds' records, and MCL § 600.2567(1) is that office's fee schedule: “To certify a recorded document, $5.00”and “For copies of any records or papers, if required, $1.00 per page”. What to bring

- The names of the buyer and seller if you know them, and roughly when the transfer happened. MCL 600.2567(1)(e) prices a grantor/grantee search at 50 cents per year searched with a $5.00 minimum, so a narrower date range costs less.
- Payment — $1.00 per page for a plain copy, $5.00 to have a recorded document certified.
Recording a new document is $30.00 regardless of length under MCL 600.2567(1)(a), which includes $5.00 into the county automation fund.
