What Kansas requires
Verified 2026-07-09 · official state sources
- Anyone born on or after July 1, 1957 must complete an approved hunter-education course before hunting in Kansas. A hunter 16 or older may instead buy up to two Apprentice hunting licenses, which waive the hunter-education requirement for that year; anyone under 16 may hunt without it under the direct supervision of an adult 18 or older. source ↗
- Resident hunters age 16 through 74 need a resident hunting license, and nonresidents of any age need a nonresident license, unless exempt. See current license types and fees, and buy online, through Kansas Wildlife & Parks. source ↗
