If you need a certified copy of a current birth certificate, that is not this office. It comes from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Office of Vital Statistics — the route above.
Kansas birth certificates are on file from 1 July 1911 onward. Each certified copy costs $20.00 under K.A.R. 28-17-6 — there is no cheaper rate for extra copies. That fee buys a five-year search (the year you give plus two either side, or a five-year span you choose), and it is kept even if no record is found. Pay by check or money order made out to Kansas Vital Statistics; do not send cash. Mail it to the Office of Vital Statistics, 1000 SW Jackson Street, Suite 120, Topeka — not to this office.
