Set by state law for every county recorder: IC 36-2-7-10(c) charges $25 to record a deed or any other instrument other than a mortgage, and $55 to record a mortgage, and subsection (b) says these fees "supersede all other recording fees required by law". Pages larger than 8½ × 14 inches are $25 for the first page and $5 for each page after. Copies are $1 a page and $5 to certify a document. A county may add $10 a document by ordinance where a unit in the county has an affordable housing fund (c)(9); Marion County's housing-trust fee is set under (c)(10) or § 10.7.
