Register to Vote in Cassia County, ID

Cassia County's Clerk registers voters directly. § 34-406(1) has the county clerk “provide for voter registration in the clerk's office” and lets the clerk appoint registrars to assist throughout the county, so there may be somewhere nearer than the courthouse. § 34-407(1) has them register you without charge if you appear in person, and § 34-407(2) sends the clerk or a registrar to your home if illness or physical incapacity keeps you from appearing — on a written application to the clerk. Registering online is an option, not the route. § 34-409(1) says the Secretary of State mayrun an electronic system, and it is open only to an elector holding a current Idaho driver's license or state ID card that shows their current principal residence. If that is not you, the clerk's counter is. Bring photo ID and proof of where you live. § 34-411(3) accepts an Idaho driver's license or state ID card, a current US passport or other federal agency ID card, a current tribal ID card, or a current Idaho concealed-weapons or enhanced license; § 34-411(4) takes a document showing your name and current Idaho physical address. Deadlines: registration at the clerk's office closes at 5:00 p.m. on the eleventh day before an election (§ 34-408(1)) — an application that arrives inside those eleven days is held and takes effect the day after the election. Miss it and you can still register on election day at your own precinct's polling place (§ 34-408A), or at an absent electors' polling place or early voting station (§ 34-408(3)), with the same proof of identity and residence.
