Get a Death Certificate in Bear Lake County, ID
This service isn't handled by the County Clerk. Here's where to go instead.
Death certificates are issued by Idaho Vital Records (Health & Welfare), not the county clerk. A certified death certificate is $16.00 per copy under the Board of Health and Welfare's rule, IDAPA 16.02.08.251.01 (effective 4-6-23), and that $16.00 already includes the $1.00 coroner training and education fund fee — the same $16.00 as a birth certificate. Access is restricted by § 39-270.

If you need a certified copy of a current death certificate, that is not this office. It comes from Idaho Vital Records (Department of Health and Welfare), Boise — the route above.
Mail-in application — complete at home and mail with the fee.
⚠️ This office does not process death certificates. Use the agency linked above. The office below is your county's County Clerk — useful for other services.
