Get a Birth Certificate in Bear Lake County, ID
This service isn't handled by the County Clerk. Here's where to go instead.
Birth certificates are issued by Idaho Vital Records (Health & Welfare), not the county clerk. Idaho Code § 39-243 puts the record with the STATE REGISTRAR of vital statistics, § 39-247 has the state registrar appoint local registration officers for districts the director establishes — not county clerks — and the certified-copy fee is $16.00 per copy under the Board of Health and Welfare's rule, IDAPA 16.02.08.251.01 (effective 4-6-23). Access is restricted: § 39-270 limits copies to those who show a direct and tangible interest.
