Apply for a Passport in Kern County, CA
Passport applications go to an acceptance facility designated by the U.S. Department of State, and the County Clerk is not on that list. Here's where to go instead.
Federal fees, the same everywhere (22 CFR 22.1): a $35 execution fee paid to the acceptance facility, and for an adult passport book a $50 application fee plus the $80 security surcharge paid to the U.S. Department of State. First-time applicants use form DS-11 and apply in person.

Federal form. It must be handed in, unsigned, at a passport acceptance facility — post offices, some libraries and courts, and some county offices. Use the federal locator to find one near you.
⚠️ This office does not process passport applications — a passport acceptance facility does. The office below is your county's County Clerk — useful for other services.
